first post!

I am really excited to start posting on this blog! I live in a very small town and you really have to improvise sometimes because the closest store (besides the local Wal-Mart) is a half-hour away. So I love finding great deals and then sharing them with people! On this blog you will find ways to keep fashion and beauty affordable, because being fashionable shouldn't be about spending money.

In my first post I want to show you some great deals that I have found and using your resources to make some great outfits!

Okay, starting off- get your basics. I have a couple of things that I can always trust on for being a great base for my outfits- such as the black t-shirt in the picture above or the black tank below. So we'll begin with the belt first, I love going to re-sale/consignment stores, there are so many amazing deals just waiting for you to buy !! I bought this belt for $0.99! It works great to make something fit better on your body especially if you are wearing something slightly flow-y and loose, it helps tie everything together.

Next, is the cardigan. Wow, where do I start? I found this great idea from my favorite blog- Behind The Seams- in her post D.I.Y. Wrap-turned-scarf- she shows you how to make a cardigan/wrap/scarf its really great and all you need is a yard of fabric, ruler, and scissors. All you do is make 2 cuts for your arms and you are done! I have this local wholesale fabric store in which I bought the fabric for $ 1.50! Love it!

I love skinny jeans and I bought these at our local J.C. Penney's for $12.99 on sale! One note on skinny jeans- only wear them if they compliment your body. So if your thighs look fat in them, don't wear them just because everyone else is. Looking great comes with great fitting clothes that compliment your body! You DON'T have to wear all of the trends in ONE outfit!

And finally, the shoes- I really like Payless but I have learned from experience that only purchase shoes from there if they FIT and are COMFORTABLE. Just because its a crazy low price and your sure if you don't like them then a family member, friend, or just a random person would like them. DON'T waste your money! Invest in a comfortable pair of shoes, thankfully, these were comfortable!

Be Priceless!
